“Power Words” to Remember

Every once in a while I will hear a word that inspires me, fills me with joy, or affirms my future dreams. Let me explain. Often, when I am listening to the radio or a podcast, a talented speaker, usually motivational, will draw me in by making a topic relatable to me. Once my focus is on the speaker, certain words (lets just call them “power words”) stand out to me throughout my listening. These words resonate with me, based on the significance they have on my life.  That is just an example; I am not always aware of where the “power words” come from.

For the past week I have wanted to make a list of  “power words” in my life, along with a short description of what they mean to me. The purpose of this list is to be a reminder of why I love these words so much! Each week I will add a new “power word” to my list!

Here are a few to get started:

Ambassadoran authorized messenger or representative (dictionary.com). Since, I have trusted in Christ as my savior I am now an ambassador for Him in all the things I do and all the ways I act.”We are therefore Christ’s ambassadors, as though God were making his appeal through us. We implore you on Christ’s behalf: Be reconciled to God.” 2 corinthians 5:20

Dream- an involuntary or voluntary vision occurring to a person when awake (dictionary.com). My dreams lead me to explore, to ask, to imagine all of the possibilities for my life. To stop dreaming, is to stop moving forward. Lynette Lewis says it perfectly, “Dream BIG. Dream on all cylinders.”

Current Dreams

  • Bring Girls on the Run to Wichita Falls.
  • Use my blog to improve my social media skills (I feel a plan in this).

Expect- to look forward to; regard as likely to happen; anticipate the occurrence or the coming of (dictionary.com). Oh how I love Lynette’s illustration’s, “Expect to be expecting.” When you don’t see it, expect it. God has PLANS, so EXPECT THEM! Live fully in the season and expect great things to come. Expect prayers to be answered.

  • I am expecting to find a career that I can be used abundantly for Gods plan.
  • I am expecting peace and comfort from my worries and apprehensions!

Influence- to move or impel (a person) to some action (dictionary.com) Like Lynette Lewis, I want to be “a woman of influence.” I want to move, encourage and enliven people to their fullest potential. Oh how I wish I had been at the New Life Church Daughter’s Conference this year! Instead I listen to the podcasts!

  • This is by far my favorite word out of the few I have recorded.

Invest- to use, give, or devote (time, talent, etc.), as for a purpose or to achieve something (dictionary.com). Invest “I have never known a person that did anything half-heartedly, to be successful,” John Maxwell. In all endeavors it is important to be reminded to invest and commit in order to achieve success!

There is my meager list of “power words”, that I expect to continue to grow, as I grow. Check out my Power Word Page to see all my words!

Do you have any “power words”? What do they mean to you?
