Staying active is a priority, HIGH on my agenda. Regrettably, too high at times. I have been an athlete my whole life. I played softball in college at Midwestern State University, and over the course of those four years I put unattainable amounts of pressure on myself to be the fittest, the strongest, the fastest etc. Somewhere in those four years I had a meltdown. My body couldn’t handle the pressure, and I not only was attempting and failing to be the “perfect,” athlete but I was also battling related physical and mental elements.
With Christ’s redemptive power, I have a savior to lean on in my shortcomings. He has shown me incredible grace and love throughout this entire journey for balance. Balance is my key word here. An active life is a GOOD thing. An obsession that wrecks your day if you didn’t get your workout in…. not so good.
“9 But he said to me, “My grace is sufficient for you, for my power is made perfect in weakness.” Therefore I will boast all the more gladly about my weaknesses, so that Christ’s power may rest on me.” 2 Corinthians 12:9
