U-turns on Day 1!

So far, today has felt extra productive! I started my day by baking six different flavors of cupcakes for The Good Samaritan Cupcakery (plus a superb looking bunch of cinnamon rolls if I do say so myself).

Yummy! Oh and just incase you were wondering the flavors today are:

  • Pumpkin with brown sugar cream cheese frosting
  • Maple pecan with a caramel buttercream frosting
  • Strawberry with strawberry buttercream frosting
  • Red-velvet with cream cheese frosting
  • Devils Food and Vanilla

All of our daily flavors are on the menu at our website! T.G.S. Cupcakery

Next I crammed for my midterm, killed my midterm, and hustled home to tackle Day 1 of Tina’s Best Body Bootcamp!

On the way to the YMCA I had a bizarre moment of confusion, and this is what I think happened… While racing out the door, into my car I started thinking about things I wanted to make for Halloween and Thanksgiving decor before the season passed me by. In my mind I decided it was imperative that I get to Hobby Lobby and soon, in order to accomplish these seasonal projects. In fact my mind was so consumed with these crafts I was halfway passed the YMCA before I realized it. I guess my inner creativity thought Hobby Lobby was more important, but not this time!! I U-turned my jeep at the next light. “BOO” letters and “GIVE THANKS” blocks will have to wait!

**Side-note** This is not the first time that has happened.

Back to bootcamp. This is my first time to participate in a bootcamp online, and I wasn’t sure what to expect. Tina provided everything I needed to know in e-mail attachments along with inviting me into a Facebook support group! Reading comments, in the Facebook group, from people who completed their workout this morning only added to my excitement.

Monday’s workout consisted of supersets and treadmill intervals. She provided the lifts and recommended interval durations with some modifications to make it more or less challenging, depending on where you are personally.

My biggest challenge were the “scorpions.” I had to watch a youtube video to learn how to do these, but basically you balance your feet on an exercise ball with your hands on the ground. Then you take one leg off the ball, bend your knee and rotate your core, extending your leg across your body. And alternate.

A visual would probably help much more then my description:

I added my own abs circuit at the end before heading home.

  • 25 crunches
  • 30 SLOW bicycles
  • 20 alternating v-ups
  • 30 SLOW bicycles
  • 25 crunches

Time to get dinner going and focus on my paper!

Just thought I would ask… Am I the only one who mindlessly drives to different destinations than originally planned?
